Journal of Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Data (JPRID) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). 1. Duties of Editors
- Evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of their academic merit, originality, scientific significance, and relevance to the journal's scope.
- Ensure a fair, unbiased, and confidential review process regardless of the authors’ race, gender, nationality, religious beliefs, institutional affiliation, or political philosophy.
- Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and protect the anonymity of authors and reviewers during the double-blind review process.
- Take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of manuscripts involving plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, or other unethical practices.
- Manage conflicts of interest appropriately and ensure transparency in editorial decision-making.
- Make publication decisions based on the reviewers’ evaluations and the scientific merit of the manuscript.
2. Duties of Reviewers
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations that contribute to improving the quality of manuscripts.
- Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and refrain from sharing or using unpublished information for personal benefit.
- Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
- Notify the editor of any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published or submitted works.
- Disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the review process and decline review assignments when appropriate.
3. Duties of Authors
- Submit only original and unpublished work that is not under consideration by another journal or publication.
- Present research findings accurately and objectively without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.
- Provide proper acknowledgment of the work of others through accurate citations and references.
- Avoid plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate submission, and redundant publication.
- Ensure that all listed authors have made significant scholarly contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.
- Identify all sources of financial support and disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the interpretation of the research.
- Promptly notify the editor if a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article when necessary.
- Provide underlying research data, supplementary materials, or ethical approval documentation when requested by the editorial board.
4. Duties of the Publisher
- Support editors and reviewers in maintaining ethical standards throughout the publication process.
- Preserve the integrity of the academic record and ensure editorial independence.
- Facilitate the publication of corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary.
- Ensure long-term accessibility and preservation of published content through appropriate archiving and indexing systems.
- Promote ethical publishing practices and scholarly communication.
5. Research Integrity and Ethical Standards
- Research involving human participants, personal data, or sensitive information must comply with applicable ethical regulations and institutional requirements.
- Authors should clearly state ethical approval information when required.
- Research involving artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, or automated decision-making should be conducted responsibly and transparently.
6. Handling of Publication Misconduct
JPRID takes allegations of publication misconduct seriously. Suspected cases of plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, authorship disputes, or other unethical practices will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Depending on the severity of the violation, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:
- Request corrections from the authors.
- Reject the manuscript.
- Retract the published article.
- Publish a correction, retraction notice, or expression of concern.
- Notify the authors’ affiliated institutions or funding agencies when appropriate.
